Hnoss & Gersemi

The Name Behind the Gems.In Norse mythology, Hnoss and Gersemi were daughters
of Freyja, the goddess of beauty and wealth. They were
so radiantly beautiful that precious jewels and treasures were called
by their names—the Old Norse word "hnossir" (treasures)
Is derived from Hnoss.I chose this name because it perfectly captures what
gemstone cutting is about: revealing hidden beauty...

I'm Terence, and I'm learning the craft of precision gemstone
cutting, Or Lapidary, while honoring my Nordic heritage.

MY EQUIPMENT:I've invested in professional-grade tools, including a Sri Lankan handpiece faceting machine with quality sintered (diamond embedded) cutting laps and industry prefered polishing laps - the same equipment professionals use. The equipment is capable of excellent work; I'm the one still learning how to use it!While I'm building my skills, I approach each stone with
care, precision, and respect for the craft.

MATERIALS:My current inventory includes a variety of mineral specimens including: Garnets, Topaz, Quartz (Amethyst), Peridot and Beryl.

MY SKILL LEVEL.I'm honest about where I am - I'm in the learning and practice stage. I've
cut a few stones so far, and I'm improving with each one.Some turn out great, others are learning experiences. I'm not yet at the level of experienced professional cutters, but I'm well on my way!

MY PRICING:Because I'm building my skills and portfolio, my rates are significantly
below professional lapidary prices. You get affordable cutting in exchange for working with someone still learning, and supporting future advanced training.
